WIN Level 2 Training
Terms & Conditions
By booking on the training, students agree that:
1. Accurate and true information is provided that they have the necessary entry requirements for the Level 2 WIN training.
2. Once accepted onto the WIN Level 2 course, students are considered to have entered into a contract with Outdoor Tribe CIC to pay the notified training fee in full no later than 4 weeks before the scheduled commencement of the course and to complete the training within the specified timescale.
3. Barring unexpected circumstances, students agree to attend all the course elements as scheduled and fully complete the training according to the timetable provided and agree to commit to the time requirement for completing the required hours of training, delivered via online teaching sessions, attending a 2/3 day residential at our base in East Northants and to commit to the required hours of additional study/reading time.
4. A student’s failure to complete the full scope and criteria of the course, within the timescale communicated by the trainer, will not entitle the student to reimbursement of any part of the course fee paid to Outdoor Tribe CIC. If Unit submission dates are missed, the consequence may be them missing out on deadlines for submission for IQA assessment, required for the WIN qualification certification. In such a scenario ,it may well be possible for a student to complete the training with another cohort on payment of a re-registration fee.
5. Students must make Outdoor Tribe CIC aware of any issue with or medical reason that will impact on them participating in any of the activities listed below:
- Use of hand tools
- Woodland conservation tasks
- Reflective and sensory mindfulness-based activities
6. Students must attend the residential sessions with personal safety clothing that is suitable for working in a woodland environment. Steel capped safety boots are recommended.
7. If a student needs to cancel their place before starting a course they must submit a request by email not less than 1 month before the scheduled commencement of training. Thereafter, there will be no refunds made.
8. Outdoor Tribe CIC has the right to cancel the training course if there are insufficient numbers, but such cancellation will be no later than four weeks prior to the scheduled start of the training. In that case 100% of any course fees paid will be refunded or can be put towards the next course to be run.
Attendance
9.If a student is unable to attend any one of the scheduled elements or parts of the training course, this may impact on the Assessment criteria not being med for the awarding of the Level 2 certification by Agored.
10. If there are concerns about the student’s attendance for training delivery, home study, safe practices, behaviour or commitment to the course in general, our trainer may need to contact the head of the organisation who has paid the course fees to discuss the situation. Where possible, the student will be made aware that this is going to take place. For independents, paying for their own training, the same applies in connection with training delivery, home study, safe practices, behaviour or commitment fo the course in general. With ‘independents’ the Trainer will discuss the situation causing concern directly with a view to finding a way forward that the Trainer feels is suitable, in relation to the presenting issue. It is the Trainer’s decision as to whether or not a student being facilitated to continue with the training is going to be either in their best interests or in the best interest of others (internal or external to the WIN training).
Marking of Coursework
11. Students will be given hand-in dates for coursework and are expected to meet these deadlines. The coursework is marked by our trainer who will assess the suitability of the student’s evidence against each of the assessment criteria, in line with the requirements from Agored. Feedback will be given to students on their standard of work, highlighting any further work that is required. Students are given three opportunities to resubmit, having been given clear deadlines, to bring their coursework to the required standard, fulfilling the assessment criteria set by Agored for each question.
12. Plagiarism, presenting work or ideas from another source as your own, with or without the knowledge or consent of the original author will not be acceptable. Use of another student’s work, with or without the other student’s knowledge or consent, to answer questions will be considered a serious issue with consequences that will be likely to extend, as a minimum, to dismissal from the training without refund of course fees paid. The trainer reserves the right to issue an automatic referral for any answers considered to have been plagiarised from another student’s work. Answers need to be presented in the student’s own words, with referencing provided if quoting directly from another source.
13. Answers generated by AI will be referred and AI checker assessment tools will be used in this regard.
14. If a student has submitted incomplete or sub-standard coursework and does not provide any resubmission by the deadline given, they must accept that no refunds for course fees already paid will be made if required coursework is not completed. Students can re-apply with a future cohort to be able to submit their portfolio to complete the training. There will be fees incurred for any extensions or repeat of any practical assessment, if that is needed.
15.. Students will only be put forward for certification when:
- They have participated in all the taught elements of the training
- They have completed a coursework portfolio, answering all questions as set out in the student handbook to the standard required by the trainer and to the ‘GCSE’ level standard required by Agored.
- They have demonstrated to the trainer that they have engaged in research and further reading commensurate with course requirements.
16. The final decision on suitability for submission of a candidate’s portfolio for the Agored WIN Level 2 ‘Supporting Wellbeing In Nature’ rests with the Outdoor Tribe CIC Trainer
Complaints and Appeals
If a student wishes to make a complaint about any element of the training or wishes to appeal an assessment judgement, they can be referred by Outdoor Tribe CIC to the Training coordinator, who acts as our IQA, Kate Clements. Email: kateclements@smallwoods.org.uk
Insurance
Outdoor Tribe has Public Liability Insurance.
