Foraging – Wild Garlic
An overview of our foraging for wild garlic session
During April the Ransoms (wild garlic) leaves are at their best and it’s the prime time for harvesting them to include in some delicious eating experiences.
Just harvesting the wild garlic leaves can help deliver a sense of inner calm, reducing the release of stress hormones in the body. Sitting in a patch of wild garlic leaves, listening to the birds and feeling the Spriing sunshine on your face is, quite simply, not just delightful but calming to the soul. If you haven’t tried it, then why not come along and discover this rewarding way to connect with nature to benefit your sense of wellbeing.
Actually, ‘just being’ in the woodland environment, which is an oasis of tranquility, promotes calmness and relaxation that refreshes, revives and restores emotional equilibrium. The sense of relaxation you can experience, through connecting to nature, can effectively reduce stress levels, delivering a sense of inner calm and feeling more in control of your emotional state.
Our foraging sessions are suitable for adults and young people over the age of 12. The sessions include all ingredients to make a meal cooked over a camp-fire. Participants are also extended permission to take wild garlic home with them, which can be stored in the fridge for future use in home cooking.
The date of the ‘Foraging for wild garlic’ session is Satuday 18th April and the timing will be 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. The cost of the session is £65/person.
