Run on Forest School principles, promoting holistic development, our  therapy sessions can be geared for children aged between 3 and 14 years old and also for teenagers or adults.

The objective of the sessions we run is to encourage relaxation of mind and body through nature connection, helping people find some inner peace for a while from worries about the future or ruminating about things that have happened in the past.

Through being involved in practical or reflective nature-based activities helps people smile more from the inside. It only takes a six-week block of weekly attendance at sessions to effect change and improve confidence, resilience, self-esteem and ability to find joy in the simple things in life. That’s got to be worth experiencing.

“It is very rare for me to be able to relax and feel calm while we are out, but today I felt just that – it was so good for the soul and engaging with the activities on offer was very therapeutic”.

“Excellent experience, I felt very relaxed and able to spend more quality time with my children. I totally forgot about daily struggles and worries” .

“There was something about today that made for pure happiness. The smell of the wild garlic. The smokey fire. Sunshine unexpectedly and the company of kind, interested friendly people”.

During 2022 we have introduced many people to the wellbeing benefits of nature connection and look forward to broadening our range of activities in 2023 at the tranquil woodland in East Northants where we are based.

Wellbeing with nature sessions

These are open to anyone in the community, an opportunity to join in with activities to boost biodiversity in a beautiful ancient woodland.

Scientific research has shown that spending just 2 hours a week engaging with nature connection activities is enough to provide a significant wellbeing boost, helping people feel more positive,  motivated and optimistic about life in general. Just being with other people, socially distanced of course, can foster feeling of belonging and build self-esteem. Making time for a bit of gentle socialising, pottering about the woodland, enjoying the delights that nature delivers to the senses, is a pretty enjoyable way to spend some time.

Find out more by completing the form below and we’ll get back to you for a chat about what we do and how you can join in.

A Message From

Susan Collini

I’m the person who presents the Mindfulness sessons on Zoom and leads the woodland wellbeing sessions for adults and children. I work with a team of Outdoor Tribe volunteers who all have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Outdoor Tribe’s objectives, whether delivering nature connection sessions in the woodland or online, is to encourage people to connect more deeply with nature and themselves.

I’m a qualified Mindfulness Teacher, Forest School Leader, Social Forester and also an Accredited Therapist, fusing the various strands of my professional qualifications to  support individuals to find effective learning pathways to improve their wellbeing.

People can start with face-to-face sessions or meet with me online via Zoom. It is quite possible to work with people online, introducing nature connection as a way to improve the way they feel inside.

So, why not get in touch and explore the possibilities  to gently start planning the wellbeing journey that will fulfil your needs, that of someone you know, or for a group of clients you work with.

I look forward very much to hearing from you.

More options for learning Mindfulness

Walk the wellbeing pathway of Mindfulness

Mindfulness training is based around helping you to notice more about what’s happening ‘now’, rather than almost continually being caught up with thinking about what has happened in the past or maybe lies in the future. Learning to engage more with the present moment can be a life-changer for adults and children, helping reduce anxiety and stress levels that can cause so much suffering, consciously and unconsciously.

Dip your toe into the warm water pool of Mindfulness with a 2, 4 or 8 week course that, at present, are delivered remotely.

Courses are available for children, who attend sessions, virtual or face2face, with a parent/carer. There are 3 different programmes for children aged from 3 – 16. To find out more visit Mindful Company.
