Nature connection therapeutic sessions for families with special needs children

We’re already fully booked for the March woodland session for families with SEN children, but you can express interest for April, May, June and July. Sessions times are between 2.30 and 5 p.m.

.Experience the benefits of spending time in an oasis of tranquility where the only people who will be there will be those attending the sessions, providing the catalyst for change in the ‘way of being’ when out as a family elsewhere. Over the years we’ve seen some remarkable changes occur in both children and parents who attend these sessions, something you have to experience to understand fully. The sessions provide a range of nature-based activities which are optional to engage with, or you can choose to ‘just be’ in the woodland, enjoying some quality family time.

Read feedback from families who have attended Outdoor Tribe’s nature connection therapy sessions.

Please note – we are now fully booked for the March date and will likely fill the other dates quite quickly

Cost of family sessions

These are therapeutic-based sessions for limited numbers of families at any one time. The costs cover staffing, venue hire and all activitity resources and materials provided during the session.

We always speak to families prior to them attending to ensure their needs are going to be best catered for, because we want the families to have a positive, nourishing experience that sends them home feeling re-resourced, emotionally balanced and with more of a smile inside.

Early-bird reductions available for payments made before the 1st of the month the session will take place.

2 persons – £40 (early-bird reduction – £35)

3 persons – £45 (early-bird reduction – £40)

4 persons – £50 (early-bird reduction – £45)

5 persons – £55 (early-bird reduction – £50)

Please note, we ask that there is a minimum of one adult to 2 children.

“Excellent experience, I felt very relaxed and able to spend more quality time with my children. I totally forgot about daily struggles and worries” .

“There was something about today that made for pure happiness. The smell of the wild garlic. The smokey fire. Sunshine unexpectedly and the company of kind, interested friendly people”.

Weekly on a Tuesday

Tree Therapy Sessions

These are free sessions* open to anyone in the community to engage with activities to help boost the wellbeing of both the woodland trees and themselves.

We run Tree Therapy sessions on Tuesday mornings, between 10 and 11.30 a.m.  Providing therapy for the trees delivers low-key therapy for all those involved, helping relax the body, rebalance emotions and restore equilibrium. The aim of these Tree Therapy sessions is essentially to promote wellbeing for trees and people too.

Spending time outdoors caring for nature has been proven, scientifically, to help people feel more positive, motivated and optimistic about life in general. Read more about our Tree Therapy Tuesdays    or just express interest in joining us by completing the form below, so we can start a conversation.

*We ask for a small donation to cover refreshments

A brief overview of Wellbeing In Nature

Being involved in practical or reflective nature-based activities in nature encourages deeper connection with nature and self. Significant positive change is possible, in just a few weeks, in how a person thinks and feels about themselves and life in general.  Nature-based activities can build confidence, resilience, self-esteem and ability to find joy in the simple things in life. That’s got to be worth experiencing.

We run accredited Wellbeing In Nature training for prople wanting to run wellbeing sessions in the outdoors. There’s more to delivering sessions than you might think because it’s not only the wellbeing of clients but the wellbeing of the nature environment that needs consideration.

Options to help you or someone you know

More options for engaging with us

Over the last 8 years we have introduced many people to the wellbeing benefits of nature connection. We look forward to broadening our range of therapeutic-based nature connection activities in 2024 and hope that you will decide to engage with what we can provide at our beautiful, tranquil woodland setting in East Northants.

You could engage with 1:1 therapy sessions for yourself or you could join the Tree Therapy group who meet one morning every week to help with caring for the woodland (in caring for the woodland the woodland cares for you).  If you would rather attend for therapy on a 1:1 basis, that can be facilitated too. If you are interested in getting involved in this line of work yourself then we can provide accredited training.

Just get in touch, ask a question, to find out more about what is of interest to you.

A Message From

Susan Collini

I’m the person who leads the sessions, supported by other qualified leaders and also volunteers, all of whom have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Delivery of therapeutic sessions to enhance wellbeing through nature connection is the objective of all our sessions we run in the woodland. Our aim is to facilitate people to connect more deeply with nature as a pathway to connect more deeply with themselves and enhance their wellbeing.

As a qualified Teacher, Hypno-Psychotherapist, Mindfulness Practitioner, Forest School Leader and Social Forester, I fuse the various strands of my professional experience and qualifications to support individuals to discover effective self-learning pathways that lead to improvements in their general health and wellbeing. Nature connection can be a powerful catalyst in effecting change in people; how they think, feel and behave.

So, why not get in touch and explore the possibilities to gently start planning your own wellbeing journey, or one for someone you know, or maybe in relation to a group of clients you work with.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Susan
